This little 718 Spyder may not have left the Porsche factory in 1960 – you’d need around £3 million for one of the 16 remaining original cars – but what an intoxicating nod to racing royalty.
Beautifully built with an amazing attention to detail and authenticity by a professional engineer as homage to a lifelong obsession with motor racing, this sportscar uses a GP Spyder kit in glass fibre and VW chassis and running gear. Correctly registered as a GP Spyder following SVA approval in 2009, its first date of registration follows the 1970 donor vehicle. Weighing at 644kg with a full tank, and powered by a 1600 twin port air cooled VW with Solex Carburettors. Disc brakes provide ample stopping power.
