1969 Jaguar E-Type fixed head coupe

NFX 559H is a beautiful, original right hand drive E-Type Jaguar fixed head coupe, carefully restored to its original colour scheme of Regency Red with Oatmeal hide.

Sitting on correct rechromed wires shod with Dunlop SPs, the car presents beautifully with good shutlines. The deep paintwork has settled over the last couple of years since it was taken back to bare metal, etch primed and repainted in its original colour. The brightwork is immaculate, being new, or where possible rechromed original.

The Oatmeal interior works beautifully in contrast to the deep Regency exterior, and has been completely retrimmed by BAS International. Series 2 cars have arguably the most comfortable cabin of all the E-Type coupes, and this car is no exception, beautifully finished with correct flock carpets. The original Tudor Webasto sunroof adds to the lightness of the cabin when open, takes nothing from headroom when closed, and has been rebuilt with original tooling.

The 4.2 litre six cylinder engine has been rebuilt, and pulls like a train, with strong oil pressure both at cold idle and at speed. The engine note has to be one of the best I have heard from an XK engine, and rasps healthily through a stainless steel sports exhaust.

No expense has been spared in the restoration of this E-Type, making it a truly usable and rapidly appreciating asset. Series 2 fixed head coupes are rare, and stunning value compared to earlier cars. In my opinion, they are the best driving car of the range, retaining the engine and dynamics of the late Series 1 cars, and adding efficient cooling, braking, and cabin comfort. 

An absolutely stunning car, and a fitting partner for weekend blasts, European touring, or historic events, NFX 559H must be one of the best Series 2 cars on the market at the moment.
