FAST DAP TO FUN IN NORTHERN FRANCE /// 5 – 7 APRIL 2024

Sick of the damp and cold? Make a date for a fast dap across Northern France to exploit the treasures of French springtime. I’ll make it quick…

Folkestone to Calais. Press on to Le Touquet for a late and very long lunch, (Picon biere, Plateau de fruits de mer and a crisp Chablis)… an agreeable hotel overlooking the beach… commute to the Abbeville Race track for a few time attack laps… lunch… a challenging afternoon of Tulip Rallye. Catchup with tales and talk at the sophisticated brasserie at our Chantilly spa hotel base (maybe steak and a rich Margaux)… a sound night’s sleep… hearty breakfast… push on back to Calais (maybe stock up on some springtime stash at the wine warehouse) and through the tunnel to Blighty.

£3000 per crew (driver plus navigator)

£1000 deposit will secure your place

/////NB. Places are strictly limited ////Qualifying cars only (call to check).

FRIDAY 5 APRIL

Meet at the Chunnel for a crossing at around 10.20am. Once on ~French soil, it’s time for a fill up, a cafe, and a spirited drive to Le Touquet – Paris-Plage to drop bags at Thalassa Le Touquet hotel, and stroll to late lunch, where afternoon meets evening in anticipation for the weekend’s fun.

SATURDAY 6 APRIL

Breakfast by the beach at our hotel before a quick commute to the Circuit D’Abbeville, where we’ll meet up with our friends at Club D’Aumale and join the 120 crews for the Rallye des 3 Foréts.

Abbeville track

Part one of the rallye is on the track at Abbeville which is a short, technical and flowing track favoured by fast bikes and Sportscars alike. Sessions are split for different classes of cars – in the past we’ve seen hot hatches, supercars, and Rollers rollin’, around the track, and the sessions are split into cars of a similar type for 3 x 20 minute sessions per crew.

There’s be time for coffee and a snack between sessions, and at the end of the morning we’ll be heading to a nearby private chateaux for lunch and refuel ahead of the afternoon’s challenge.

Rallye des 3 Foréts part 2 is a 120 km navigation Tulip rallye that takes in some of the most beautiful roads in the region. As part of the 120 crew event, we’ll follow the routes via villages, forests and some unique breakpoints. If we don’t take too many unplanned detours, we should arrive at the finish line at around 6pm, in time for cocktails and results.

We’ll leave Club D’Aumale sipping champagne and head to our hotel for Saturday night. The Grand Pavillon, Chantilly is our annual base for Rallye D’Aumale, and a welcome and most comfortable base to share a dinner with some drinks; a chance to share stories from the day.

SUNDAY 7 APRIL

Following a sound night’s rest, a spectacular buffet breakfast awaits at Le Craft restaurant. Re-group and depart for a 2.5hr convoy back up to Calais, with a short stop to stock up on a few decent bottles to squeeze in the boot. We’ll aim to be back in Blighty for early pm.

  • Priced at £3000 for two persons travelling in their own car (eligible cars only), to include transfer, accommodation, rally entry and food as detailed.
