When they let AMG loose on the SL in 2003, Mercedes transformed their original Sport Leicht boulevard cruiser into a superhero: a proper hotrod of comic proportions. The 300bhp from the flagship SL500 was redrawn as 500bhp with the supercharged 5.4l motor. 60mph arrives in 4.6 seconds, and the limited 155mph theoretically appears shortly after.
